ROSSETTI VERNICI E IDEE

In 1963, Edoardo Rossetti founded ROSSETTI VERNICI E IDEE and soon realized that establishing a good relationship with the retailers is the base of success for a paint producer; being them the intermediaries to reach the consumers. Therefore, between the late 60’s and the early 70’s, he proposed to 200 Italian retailers to join their forces in what was to become one of the first franchise chain in the world, when this concept did not even exist. Unfortunately, the market was not mature enough for such an innovative idea, so he began to invest in what is still considered one of the greatest inventions of the industry: the tinting systems. After several years of research and big investments, in 1972 Rossetti patented the first tinting equipment: the COLORTRONIC. In 1983, he introduced to the market the AC10000, a fully automatic machine able to dispense colorants into white paint bases. The novelty factor of this product was that it allowed to move the production of paint from the factory directly to the point of sale with enormous advantages for all the supply chain.

The machine was an instant success and within a few years, Rossetti revolutionized the entire paint market, so much that in November 1984 the TV news reported: "An Italian company has technologically revolutionized the world of color". Rossetti founded the Club 'Rossetti Color Service' and launched another innovation: the Rossetti Book, an opera illustrating the problems related to the world of paint that proposed the most appropriate solutions for each possible scenario. Today, over 30 years later, the opera is still considered an unmatched work by the professionals of the industry. With ROSSETTI VERNICI E IDEE, Rossetti deposited 14 patents, bringing the company among the leaders in the paint market in Italy.
